Projects handled by the Guild Executive Committee

1. Guild Office Setup

        In 1991, with the support of the school management, GEC established a dedicated Guild Office in the school.
 

2. The School Souvenir Shop

        The Souvenir Shop was started in the mid-1990s.
        All items are designed and their manufacturing is supervised by the Souvenir Shop Committee.
 

3. Community Outreach

  • In the 1980s, GEC supported a teacher to teach English at Rajmata Gayatri Devi Bal Niketan, Jagga Ki Bawri, a school serving children from economically weaker sections of society.       
  • Sponsored the entire education of Shalini Singh from Class X (2003–2005).       
  • Sponsored the education of Gaurangi Saini, granddaughter of the school's electrician Daulat Ram Saini, from 2021 to 2024.    
  • Since 2022, GEC has been sponsoring the education of the daughter of Smita Nair, Guild Assistant.

     

4. Hall of History

        GEC facilitated the establishment of the Hall of History (School Museum) from 2019 to 2025. The museum was inaugurated in December 2025.
 

5. Library Contribution

        In 2025, GEC contributed books to the new Primary Section Library.
 

6. Publications & Media

  • Guild Today – The Guild Newsletter, started in 1985 during Miss Doonga Ji's tenure, publishes three issues annually.
  • Published the first Directory covering alumni from 1943–1990 in 1993.
  • Published Miss Emma's Cookbook in 1995.
  • Produced and published the coffee table book "70 Glorious Years of MGD" in 2013.
     

7. Documentaries & DVDs

  • School Songs and Prayers (2008)
  • Royal Reformer (2009) – A documentary showcasing the lives touched and transformed by Rajmata Gayatri Devi, featuring her last interview before her passing.
  • Documentary on the school by Ms. Pamela Rooks during the Golden Jubilee (1993).
  • Evolution of the School Uniforms Over the Years (1993).
     

8. Silver Medals Instituted

  • Class XII – First Position in Commerce.
  • Class X – First Position in the Class.
  • Best Girl in the School Band.
     

9. Digital Initiatives

  • Launched the MGD Girls' Guild Members' Digital Directory in 2018.
  • Currently maintains a directory of 4,311 members.
  • Introduced Digital Guild Identity Cards.
     

10. Infrastructure

           In 2023, the Guild made a partial contribution towards refurbishing the Composite Computer Lab.
